I'd like to create a gif from a video, but only using a portion of the visible video, if that makes sense... Is there a way to crop the video when creating my gif?

Hi there
If you are meaning a portion of time (so the video plays shorter) then yes. Just drag the little handles to crop out the time elements you don't want.
If instead you are meaning the physical height or width, I don't believe you will be able to do that with SnagIt. You would need Camtasia for something like that.
Cheers... Rick :)

If you grab a copy of Animation Shop you can do the crop easily. It is an old piece of Jasc software that went with paintshop pro at one point. Corel does not support it since they bought them out. Here's a link that expires

I guess, alternatively, I could play my video, then capture just what I want to have in my GIF with Snagit. Duh...
