All the media is just thrown into one folder - is there a way to have multiple folders in the Media Bin?

I don't think you can do this, unfortunately. They did add folders to the library but that would probably not work unless you deleted the files for each project and that would be a pain. You'd have to drag the media down to the timeline and then add it to the library...not very efficient.

Thanks, every other program I have for editing has this feature as standard. If the people that designed the program actually used it themselves, that would know this is a no-brainer for anyone that does serious work.

There are some things that may seem painfully obvious at this stage that weren't really necessary early on. This seems to be one such area.

For me, it's helpful to consider the roots of Camtasia.

Sure, it now allows expanded capabilities than it once offered. I see it delving more and more into the realm of "general" video editing applications. But it began life as a Windows screen recording software. As such, there wasn't much (if any) need to offer ways to organize the media bin.

I'm sure it will get there, but it will be a matter of time before it does.

I think it would be equally fair to ask the question of the other editing programs. Do they record screen activity and allow hotspot functionality and quizzing among their features?

Cheers... Rick :)

If it helps, you can have folders in the Library. It depends on what you're using this for- if you actually have a large number of media to use in this project, then I can see why folders within the media bin would be helpful. If you're just choosing from a large set of media, then try using the Library for this purpose instead. The media bin is meant for showing you the things that are actively being used inside of the project you are editing...

I often have a lot of media to work with that won't be used for any other projects. It would be awesome to organize them into different folders. For example, graphics, audio, recordings, etc. It would make it so much easier to find what I'm looking for. This is really the only gripe I've got with Camtasia after using it for a year. Is there a better place to post stuff like this? Like a feature request page?

This is a great place for it- thank you for the suggestion, and the explanation of why it would be useful in your workflow. We appreciate it!
