Are there any reasons as to why Camtasia is lagging badly and affecting the way I see my video? Give me suggestions!

I'm really trying to edit without having to look at the laggy video I'm editing. I checked if it was just the actual video, but nope. It's just the editor lagging up my video editing.

I know exactly what you mean, cuz I have the same problem too, and when I do, I need to produce the video to see how it is,  then put the new produced video back on the canvas to continue.

There are three people in my group who use Camtasia, and we all experience the exact same issue. It doesn't start out that way, but once you begin adding more and more video clips, voice-overs, animations, etc., it progressively gets worse. Saving and closing, then re-opening the Camtasia file sometimes helps (a little). I'm in the process of getting a much more powerful machine that will hopefully help resolve this issue. I'm also in the process of transitioning to Premier Pro, because this software doesn't seem to have the same "lag" issue.
