Associate markers with clips

Markers seem to be associated with the timeline only, and not associated with clips. So if you add a bunch of markers to a clip, remove the clip from the timeline, the markers remain in the now empty timeline.  At this point bringing in a different clip, with those existing markers in place, makes no sense in my case. Could you please implement a way of keeping the markers associated with their clip?

You need to move the markers to whichever media you want to associate it to.  If you hover the cursor over the marker line, you should see a little blue diamond appear.  Drag that to the track you want it on.

You can also create it on a specific track to begin with - hover over the top portion of the track and you'll see the blue diamond appear.

You can add markers to the timeline or to a media.  It's your choice. Where you place them depends on what makes the most sense for what you are trying to accomplish. You can also move them from the timeline to a media and back again.  To do this, make sure that your marker track is open ("View->Show Marker Track" or Ctrl+M).    When the marker tracks are showing, you'll notice the timeline marker track as well as the the media have a track for markers at the top of each one.  When the marker track is showing, you can see as you mouse over the track an add marker icon appears.  When you click in the track (timeline or marker), it sets a marker at that point.  Markers on media stay with the media as you move them around.  To move from the timeline to a media or back, just mouse over the existing marker line and click in the marker track where you want the marker to move to.  The marker will move from it's existing track to the track you clicked in.  Hope that helps!
