Audio and Video recording out of sync and imported media only plays audio

Hello,

When I record with my webcam (Logitech Brio 4K) using 'Camtasia Recorder 2018' the audio and video are a little bit out of sync when I play it back in Camtasia 2018. I've tried 1080p and 720p - same problem.

In an attempt to counter this I recorded separately with the webcam using the Logitech capture software (1080p 30fps and also 720/30) but when I import it (.mp4) to Camtasia only the audio plays and the video just stays on the first frame. I've tried toggling hardware acceleration (Nvidia GTX 1070Ti) but no dice. I'm not sure what else to try. I don't think it can be a system resource issue as the system is quite "beefy" but happy to investigate any suggestions.

Observation: Filming with the Logitech software (same res/fps) produces a smoother image than with Camtasia Recorder. Is there anything I can tweak in Camtasia?

Any help is appreciated.

Regards,
Phil

Scrap it.

Camtasia has far too many bugs for my liking. I'll find another bit of software.

I just had the same issue, and here was what I found fixed it:

Edit and resave using Windows Video editor function (I just trimmed a couple seconds off the front end). Import into Camtasia, and it works as usual.

I have the same issue. Is there a fix for this?

I would like to avoid having to "edit and resave using Windows Video editor function." That adds an extra step to every recording.
