I was editing a video in Camtasia (2019), and all the sudden my audio track disappeared. It was in Track 2, but suddenly Track 2 is empty? So now when I play my video, there's no audio. Does anyone know if I would be able to get my edited audio file back?

I've had that happen right after cutting something out.  Sometimes it just "comes back" .. sometimes I UNDO and it comes back ... no idea what causes it ..hope yours comes back!

Something you might try would be right-clicking and see if you are able to add an audio point. If you see that option and it's available, try adding the point and see if the waveform re-appears.

I was able to add an audio point, but it didn't bring the audio waves back. Thank you for the suggestion though!

OMG Experiencing the same...after working on a detailed edit for THREE DAYS. I saved, exited, re-started (because it was freezing constantly) and the sound is GONE. Did you ever find a solution??

Oh no, I'm so sorry! Unfortunately I never found a solution. I still had the original, unedited version, so I had to go back and edit it from the beginning. Did you record using the Camtasia add-in on PowerPoint? I've noticed that when I edit those recordings, Camtasia is very slow and often freezes (and randomly lost my audio). I now just press the "record" button in Camtasia and then navigate to PowerPoint, instead of using the PowerPoint add-in to start the recording. I haven't had issues since then.

Oh NO. Yup - recorded through the add-on and that's exactly what it's been like. Editing a 2 hr webinar took me about 10 hrs to get through 3o mins...and then the audio snafu. I'm trying to breathe and not lose my s***...but supposed to have it done my morning. There's no way I can go back to the beginning! Thanks so much for responding! JUst waiting until I can submit a tech chat at 4am!
