Audio from media perfect and then gets crackly as soon as it is edited in any way.

When I import a file to the media bin and play the audio is perfect.  However when I start to just click around a bit and play the audio then becomes quite crackling.  I've deleted the contents of the media bin and added it back in and the audio is fine again.  But when I start to edit or move around in any way the whole clip's audio is affected.

If I don't actually edit the file at all and save it it seems to be fine. If I edit the file (like clip off the start and end to tidy it up) and save it (render the project) the crackling sounds are saved too.

This has only just started happening today and no settings have been changed.

What is the problem?

Have you tried restarting the computer?

What version of Camtasia are you running?
