Audio Sync Question...

Ok... I'm working to Sync up my audio and video tracks. I'm starting by trying to sync the audio from my microphone with the audio from my video camera. The problem is that under maximum magnification on the timeline, the audio keeps jumping past where it would sync (by selecting it, and dragging it with the mouse), and so my audio is not lining up with my video correctly. Is there a way to "inch" the audio tracks along with the keyboard? Need to get these tracks synced. Thank you!

You are limited to moving audio in one frame increments. There is no way to position it halfway through a video frame."In case you were unaware of this restriction"You should have no problem moving the audio track one frame at a time.

There is a feature called timeline snapping that grabs audio and video tracks, callouts, etc. and snaps them together vertically on the timeline. A bit like a magnet when they are placed within a few frames of each other.
They can also snap to the timeline indicator, markers, and more depending on which version of Camtasia you are using. They are sticky in nature and you would need to drag the audio 3 or more frames to get the snapping feature to let go.

Try temporarily disabling timeline snapping.

You didn't say what version you are using. Camtasia 8 and 9 snapping menus are shown below.

Also, the snapping will be related to your degree of zooming in.
In general: get a good peak both in the audio track and in the embedded audio. Aligne those peaks, and you're good to go.
