Camtasia 2019
Win 10 x64

Only "teil5" is displayed correctly.
As soon as I cut something on teil5 the visualized audio track also disappears

after cutting sth out:

Another weird thing is that the wav files seems to be loading endlessly:

as soon as I try to close camtasia it uses a lot of cpu but never closes. I have to kill camtasia with the task manager.
I also reseted camtasia completly but this project crashes it...

Are you running the newest version of Camtasia? 2019.0.1

I had the twirling icon/media loading in the media bin issue in the first release. The media was loaded but the twirling was there.Irregardless, the update fixed it for me, and others reporting the same thing.

The Waveform rendering is mentioned in the update release information.

7 May, 2019: Camtasia (Windows) 2019.0.1

  • Fixed issue that prevented selecting the last line of a callout using Shift-DownArrow
  • Fixed issue that caused user's editing cursor to get stuck in callouts when font size changed
  • Fixed issue that could prevent waveform rendering when using a stitch in conjunction with clip speed
  • Spacebar now always plays or pauses playback, and ignores the currently focused button
  • Improved support for respecting users' machine language settings regarding numbers on the Properties panel
  • Update mp4v2 resolving: CVE-2018-14054, CVE-2018-14325, CVE-2018-14326, CVE-2018-14379, CVE-2018-14403, CVE-2018-14446
  • Changes to track height are now saved with the project
  • Fixed issue that could cause unwanted changes to effect timings when stitching and unstitching media
  • Fixed issue that caused a crash when importing very old camrec files
  • Fixed issue that caused animated GIF files to only show the first frame during Media Bin preview
  • Improved snapping behavior when trimming multiple media at once

is it possible the audio clip is the issue?

perhaps try setting Recorder to capture a very small screen area, and play the audio clip while capturing with Recorder [record system audio]

use that capture in your project; separate audio from video; discard the video part

does that work?

might get you past the problem

The audio clip is a separate wav file and was not recorded with the camtasia recorder

You could try disabling your graphics card.See if that changes things.
Use Software Only Mode.

If that fixes it, an update to your graphics drivers may be required.

have you tried re-recording the original WAV, as suggested above?

or, perhaps just make a new short narrated Recorder clip and try that in a test project; does the issue still happen?

I do not understand your suggestion. I have recorded a wav file with a mobile recorder.
The file is played without any problem in camtasia how and why should I "re"record it?
This record is not connected to a screen capture nor to an other video. Its a single wav file.
The only problem is the missing waveform.

I believe that you said your issue was that the waveform disappears with the clip on timeline?; that suggests a possible glitch in that clip?

another method would be to export the audio only [see share menu] to get a new WAV file

use that new WAV in the project to see if the problem is resolved
