the audio and time-line image of the audio are out of sync, making editing difficult - words start and end after the chart shows sound on the track, and cut sections do not exactly cut what I hear

Christina,

We'd like to help but we need a little more info from you.

Which product? What version? What OS are you on?

Thanks.

Kevin, are you seeing this with a Camtasia recording? Or did you import a video of some type?

There were previous complaints about Windows 10 and Camtasia version 7.  Don't know if this problem is related.  Kevin what file format is your audio file in?

I'm having same problem, people's mouths and voices being way out-of-sync.

I'm on Windows Enterprise 7 and Camtasia 8.6

Seems to be most worse rendering to MP4. Rendering to WMV or AVI less worse.

I have the same issue on a windows 10 platform. Is that not compatible? It's just out of sync enough to make edits nearly impossible. What is the solution? I do find it only occurs on my longer recordings (maybe 20 minutes or so). Shorter ones (5 mins) do not seem out of sync. What is the solution for this?

TechSmith rep told me to split audio and video tracks, cut up the audio track, and adjust the pieces back-and-forth manually. I think that a labor-intensive "workaround" but not a "solution" to the problem.

Sorry for the problems expressed in this thread.

If you're experiencing an audio sync issue in Camtasia Studio 8.x, our TechSupport staff is best equipped to help diagnose the problem.  You can submit a ticket at https://support.techsmith.com and someone will follow up with you by email to help.

We've recently released Camtasia 9 with improvements in recording and editing that should help with some of the sync issues expressed in this thread.  You can download a free trial from our website.  Version 9 will install side-by-side with Camtasia Studio 8.x, so you don't need to uninstall your current version to try the new version.
