Auto scroll capture not working in Pale Moon 24.6.2 (FireFox code) Browser

The auto-scroll capture in Snagit 12 is not working in Pale Moon browser (24.6.2 - FireFox code).
Is there any chance to get auto-scrolling to work in this browser since it's based on FireFox code?

See the reason is, since Mozilla released FireFox version 29 and it's horrible new Australis UI interface, I had to dump FireFox completely and migrate to Pale Moon (www.palemoon.org) which is based on the open source Mozilla code. All plugins and add-ons work just like in FireFox but it's not exactly FireFox - it's better! Pale Moon is 100% customizable where Mozilla started to force feed you what they think is best for you and their new interface is just a horrible, uncustomizable mess compared to all other versions. An awful lot of people are not happy with FireFox 29 and are dumping it or not upgrading it past version 28 (which is not safe to keep an old vulnerable browser). I've had to go to Microsoft IE 11 to get auto-scrolls to work again as a workaround. But it would be really nice and helpful if Techsmith could check compatibility with Pale Moon since the code should be identical to FireFox's.

Thank you.

Thanks for providing this great information. I'll pass it on to the team. We're always working on ways to improve scrolling capture.

Hello Pam (and anyone else who stumbles upon this thread), Custom Scrolling works as a solution though. I stumbled upon the Techsmith video on Custom Scrolling as a potential work-around and it does indeed let me capture scrolling web pages in Pale Moon 24.6.2. So if anyone is using this web browser and Snagit, this will help.

One thing to note, but I'm not sure it applies exactly anymore to version 12 users, but I downgraded to version 11.3 because of the black UI changes, text capture removal and folder view removal in version 12 and this is where I figured out how to do the custom scroll capture. You may have to figure out how to do custom scroll captures in version 12...if I can find the video tutorial link I will update this thread.

Update: Here is the URL on Techsmith's website: http://www.techsmith.com/tutorial-snagit-custom-scroll.html

I'm glad you were able to find a way to make it work. Version 12 also has the custom scrolling feature, so this is good news for any user. Thanks for passing this tip along.
