Automatic clip insertion on timeline by NUMBER, not lexicographically

I use automatic file naming (capture-1, -2 ...) and when I import the clips capture-11, -12 ... they are all placed BEFORE capture-1 because of lexicographic comparison of file names. I already notified this from the time of camtasia 8 and you agreed ;) Still waiting :)

My workaround for now: leave nine fake clips (1 to 9) in record folders so problem delayed till clip number 100

This issue bugs me in many situations, Excel, Windows Explorer, etc.  My solution is always to add the leading zeros in many ways.

1. insert the zeros.

2. copy the default filename e.g. Capture-0010 and just add the last digit (0-9).

Not as nice as automated but a good frustration remover.

Thank you for the suggestion but I think it won't work: whatever the prefix the issue remains. If you instead are suggesting to modify the file names after their creation I prefer to always start with the same nine fake 'capture- 1' ... 'capture 9' in record folder and import in Camtasia clips from 'capture- 10' upward without any other operation. After producing I delete all but the fake clips and I'm ready ;)

this is a serious issue for me, and I've reported it as a bug many times

my workaround is to use numeric prefixes in the file names, like 001-CaptureWhatever, 002-CaptureWhatever, 003-CaptureWhatever, etc

adds unnecessary work, but it works

Fab,

I even wrote a batch file to create the null files or even rename files.  E.g. Capture-1.trec  through Capture-99.trec into names Capture-001.trec through Capture-099.trec.  Then it struck me, you may be on an Apple, you may want to create an additional trec file AFTER creating the others forcing a
"Save As", and a few other issues.  No programming issues, but rather real-life issues.  Excel code would be easier but then Excel code written on a PC might not work on a Mac.  ARRRGGGGHHHH!
