Automating picture in picture

I do screencasts and also record my webcam. Then, I produce with the webcam as picture in picture. I show the webcam video larger at the beginning of the screencast, centered. Then I move it via an animation to the bottom right corner and reduce its size.

I do it for every video. So, would it be possible to automate it?
I'd like to have a preset that applies the initial pictur in picture size and the animation, but allows to decide the moment in which the animation starts. Or at at least I'd like to have to separate presets that do those things.

Is it possible^

I do not believe what you want to do is possible in Camtasia Studio [no pre set], from a practical standpoint

animations are custom-applied on a clip-by-clip basis [usually after editing]; so each new capture's web cam clip would need its own animations

you could "update media" a web cam PIP clip [one that is already on timeline, with animations applied] with a new clip, but, unless the clips are exactly the same duration, any animations would end up in the wrong place

in theory, this might be possible using a PIP clip template stored in Library, but the need to edit each replacement to exactly match the timing of the template would be challenging?

perhaps experiment with the library approach to see if you could make it work?

UPDATE ...

I tried the Library approach; I made a standard "lead-in" PIP clip, with animations, that would do what you want; not sure if that would serve your purposes since you'd have to use the same asset at the beginning of all your screencast projects
