I also have this problem.

I have tried the SnagIT Firefox scrolling helper add-on (http://www.techsmith.com/snagit/acces..., but get an error with each new Firefox instance. The error reads:

TypeError: Components.classes['@techsmith.com/snagitscrollhelper;1'] is undefined

This is a major productivity kill.

The solution is to open about:config and set "general.autoscroll" to "true". I don't know why this preference was changed, but credit for the fix goes to this website:

general.autoscroll is already true for me. It seems like this is a snagit issue that needs to be addressed with the recent firefox 3.6 update.

to get auto scroll to work with fire fox or any browser. First) all should know but just in case in profiles click on the tab scrolling windows. After that go to the profiles settings / input / scrolling / custom scroll once this is done your good to go just click on capture button. You should see a box in the top left or bottom right depending on where your mouse pointer is just hold left click and drag box what you want to capture be it the whole page or just a section. Once you have what you want bring your point over to the website scroll bar click the down arrow and your done. It will auto scroll for you.

PS. if you move the mouse or hit a key the auto scroll will stop and not capture every thing you want

hope this help

Which version of SnagIt has this problem? Or has the problem been corrected? I have Snagit 9.1.3 and Firefox 3.6.12. After all, the bug was reported 11 months ago.

Works for me using Firefox 3.6.12 and Snagit 10.0. I just did a scrolling capture of this page without any issues.

I recall there were issues with an earlier version of Firefox but things should be fine now if you're running the latest versions.

@3Dkiwi : Thanks. I just tried to capture all of this page in FF 3.6.12 with SnagIt 9.1.3 but no Firefox scrolling helper add-on. No problem!

Hello and good afternoon.

One important factor is the version of Snagit you are using. When FireFox updated to version 3.6 it did break our ability to scroll in older versions of Snagit. However, we did come out with a patch for version 9.1.3. More information on this issue, as well as potential workarounds and the patch for version 9 users can be found here:

http://techsmith.custhelp.com/app/ans...

Now, I have seen a different version of this issue present itself using Snagit 10. It's not because of the browser version, but generally due to an addin that's been installed. I've seen it most often with IE Tab addins and Delicious Bookmarks, but there plenty of others that change the browser environment in such a way that we cannot scroll properly. Disabling the problematic addin generally resolves the issue. The 4 scrolling work around types shown in the article link above will usually still work as well, regardless of the addins.

Lastly if you are using Snagit for Mac, you may need to uninstall and reinstall our FireFox extension.

I hope that helps!

Hi there, I'm still running 9.1.3 of Snagit and having problems with autoscroll in Firefox. I've tried to access the patch above but the link no longer works. Is it available elsewhere?

I'm using snagit for mac and get this error on Firefox, despite having deinstalled and reinstalled the extension twice. Please help. Thanks. Janet

I'm having the same problem, but with Snagit10 and FF 3.6.16. (It started after I installed FF4, so I uninstalled that and rolled back to the previous version.) At first it would just capture what was visible in the browser window and nothing else, and then today it started giving me "error #33" over and over.

eta: Disabled Greasemonkey, FB Purity and FB Comment Fixer, and I'm still getting the same partial, non-scrolling captures. And sometimes it gives me nothing but a black screen.

Do you have the Snagit extension still installed in Firefox? If so, try Tools > Addons > Snagit Firefox Extension > Uninstall
