Hi,
It is on the Windows version, but I do miss the Batch Conversion Wizzard on the Mac for SnagIt 2020.

Could you please implement this much-requested feature?

Hi,

What are you looking to do with the batch conversion wizard? On mac we have batch export (button at the bottom right of the Library) that allows you to export any number of captures and convert the file format.

Hi Luke

I realize this thread was tagged for Mac, but are you able to tell us if the Batch Conversion feature was deprecated in Windows at some point?

I had a need for this the other day. I cracked open Windows File explorer and selected all the files inside a folder. But when I right-clicked, the "Batch Convert" I fully expected to see was absent. I scoured the help and it appears that now somehow we must have all the images we wish to convert showing in our SnagIt library?

Thanks... Rick :)

Rick,
The batch convert wizard should still be in the product. The menu item appears in my installation:

Maybe a repair of your installation is in order?

Perhaps it has something to do with installing older versions of SnagIt in efforts to help out in the forums.

This may be the one time where a "repair install" may actually be beneficial! LOL

:)  -- sounds like it. Normally, we do not recommend installing older versions after your latest version for reasons like this (ruins file associations or other things that get registered in Windows). Have you considered using a virtual environment such as Oracle's VirtualBox for experimenting with older Snagit versions? Might be easier to just install older version/use it for a while/uninstall older version/repair your latest version install, but it is something to consider.

For yucks, it is possible to re-register that context menu yourself (outside of the Snagit installer repair), but it involves using `regsvr32.exe` on `SnagitShellExtRes.dll`, but let's not go there. The Repair step should do this for you.

Ahhh it really wasn't all that big of a deal. In all the time I've ever used SnagIt, there are maybe three times when I've had the need to batch convert. I had created a series of PNG images from PPT and wanted to convert to JPG. I ended up just spitting them out of PPT again as JPG.

Thanks! Rick :)

Converting things like Size, Color, Scaling, Border, Watermark, etc.

Just the same thing that can be done on Windows.
