Just uploaded latest update to Cam 3 and right away the Behaviors images disappeared. They still work, but I only know what "Fade" does. None of them show examples, just the word "Camtasia". How can I get those illustrations back?

That is weird behavior.   You are referring to these, right?  http://www.screencast.com/t/i0Rr1iZok59j

The previews  only update when you mouse over them.    Does the problem go way when you quit and restart Camtasia?

Yes, that's just what it does. But no, the previews don't come up when mousing over them nor when I restart Camtasia. Thanks for illustrating what it does.

I just checked mine and mine works fine, I just updated to 3.0.3 using the in app update.

Those videos would all be assets in the .app bundle.

If they aren't working, it could indicate that your download was corrupted, or that you are running the program from a non-standard location.

If you're technical, you can try right clicking on the app and choosing 'show contents' then expand the resources folder then look for files like "fadeBehavior.mp4" to confirm they are there.

Either way it sounds like you might be best off renaming or deleting your current copy, and downloading a fresh one.

OK, I tried that and those files are there, but apparently the images in the background are what's missing.

I just used the camtasia-3.dmg file to reinstall it but nothing changed. Then downloaded Camtasia 3 again and reinstalled. But since it's not asking for my key, it's probably keeping the old files in the background.

Should I just delete that folder that has the resources folder in it and reinstall?

No, at this point, I would probably open a support ticket as the issue seems to be outside the application bundle.

Thanks Jack. I'm trying to go back to v3.0.0 as my exports now have no audio. I may just go back to version 2. That one worked.

I had that audio issue once, and it turned out that I had audio unchecked in the export screen.

I have "Encode audio" checked, but it's checked in every video I export. This is getting frustrating. I've gone back to using Cam 2.

Have you tried contacting our technical support?  They might be able to help you sort out what is going on.  You are definitely not seeing normal behavior.  You can enter a support ticket here: https://support.techsmith.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

And the answer is......
Go to the library and pull out all the plist files. That fixed the audio export problem, but still not the behaviors background/images. But at least the behaviors are behaving. Just doing it in black and white
