Best format for alpha channel videos in Camtasia (cross-platform)?

I create stock motion graphics for a living and I'm worried about compatibility when it comes to alpha channel. Before, it was all simple, as MOV with PNG was the "industry standard" and it worked well on both Mac and Windows.

Nowadays, we're slowly moving to using Prores 4444 which seems to work well almost universally on both Mac and Windows in most editors, but doesn't seem to work in Camtasia 2019 for Windows.

Any plans to introduce this soon? Or what's the recommended codec for Windows, now with PNG being deprecated by Apple. I see the Prores 4444 works in Camtasia for Mac, but not on Windows.

That is an accurate assessment. We are working on getting ProRes 4444 support for Camtasia Windows 2020, but I can't make promises as we have much more testing to do.

That is fantastic news! Out of all the video editing software we tested on Windows, they all support ProRes 4444, except for Camtasia and Filmora.

Being in the stock industry, it's a little hard for me and my team to keep the deprecated PNG version as well, which recently stopped working altogether on Apple machines.

So I'm hoping you guys can implement ProRes 4444 as well soon (on Windows), so we can keep serving our Camtasia segment of the market (around 20% of our customers).

Do you have an estimate for this maybe?
