Hello there,

I know this was probably asked hundreds of times already but my circumstances are a bit different.

I was testing Camtasia with one of my favorite games -Rome II total war- since Ive used to play it on windowed mode so Camtasia can capture the gameplay. My resolution is 1680x1050  so not full hd and not the usual 16:9 aspect ratio.

I recorded at this resolution  and the .trec file seemed  very crispy and with vibrant colors as seen bellow but I knew the final result couldnt be this quality

However I was dissapointed after the uplaod to youtube completed. The video was pretty blurry ajnd had washed out colors as you can see it here

Ive used the share to youtube preset so I guess I have to set some custom ones if I want better quality. So what settings for recording and producing you reccomen giving my resolution?

Hello, Stefan!

Are you clicking on the gear icon in the lower right of the YouTube player and setting it to 720p? Note, too, that YouTube will be resizing your 16:10 (1680x1050) videos to match their specifications (see: https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/1722171?hl=en ) and by doing so they are degrading the quality of the video. Try recording, editing, and producing to 1280x720 and then uploading the 720p video.

well do you suggest to lower my ingame resolution to 1280x720? I cant play my game in a window like only in fulscreen windowed mode (the cursor gets out of the game etc)

Also what other setings should I do for recording  to get the best quality?

What production settings should I choose after to get the best quality besides the 720p?
