black and white image (greyscale) if using send to MS packages

Using Snagit 9.1 to capture a region form a web page. Image is full colour in Snagit editor but when using SEND to MS packages such as Powerpoint the image converts itself to black and white (greyscale) and very poor quality. If I copy from Snagit editor and then paste into Powerpoint no issue and image is full colour and good quality. This is something very basic in settings I must be missing!

Hi Lotusvball;

There are likely a number of potential causes though something to consider is that Snagit 9 is no longer supported (see here) and development on Snagit 9 stopped in May of 2010; any operating systems that launched after May of 2010 would not be compatible with Snagit 9 (the same goes for versions of Office). If you are running Snagit 9 on anything later than Windows 7, it will not behave as expected and little can be done to address that due to changing technologies.

One thing to note is that Snagit 13 does not have this particular issue (Snagit 10, 11, or 12 did not seem to have this issue either). Have you tried the Snagit 13 trial yet?

It was working fine on Windows 10 until about 2 months ago. I will check to see if the organization will update me to Snagit 13.
