Black Screen on Mac

I recently installed Jing on my MacBook Air (MacOS Sierra). The problem is that I cannot use it as when I go to screen capture the screen is black and the resulting image is blank white.

I love using Jing and I can't seem to figure out what the problem is. It works perfectly on my Windows based Laptops.

Any help is appreciated.

Previous threads (mostly Windows based client) refer to anti-virus and security software blocking the app from capturing images. But I have a brand new iMac and have not installed any anti-virus. This must be something built in I am guessing. Any guidance from TechSmith would be great, because the older threads are not helping me yet.

Hello,

We have seen this happen with an older version of Jing being download from a non-Techsmith site. Can you please do an uninstall and then re-install using this link https://www.techsmith.com/download/jing/

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Kind Regards,

Same problem with black screen.  I'm using Mac OS 10.13; I downloaded from your link, but the resulting jing.dmg just yields the notice that "disk images could not be opened -- image not recognized." What application will open and install this jing.dmg on my new iMac?  I do not have any  antivirus software (eg, Webroot, Zone Alarm).

One day later .... I restarted my mac, reinstalled from the link above, and Jing works fine.

Re-installed multiple times and restarted. Still getting the white/faded version of the copied capture...
