Blur specific area in Snag-it

I'm trying to create documentation using my company's version of a specific piece of software. While doing it, I'm using Snag-it to grab screen shots. Often, a specific part of a window needs to be blurred. (It is a rectangular area, but the rest of the screen could completely surround it, or have text or screen areas that I do not want to blur.)

The issue is that I cannot find a way to blur the rectangular area I need, leaving the rest of the area visible as it was when I captured it...

I'm sure I'm missing something easy..., but I just can't find how to do it.

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for the great question, this is a request we hear a lot! As it happens, with our release last week of version 11.4, we've made blurring part of your capture a lot easier to find and use. Here is a quick tutorial on how to maintain privacy in your captures: http://www.techsmith.com/tutorial-snagit-maintain-privacy-in-captures.html

I hope this helps out!

Jason
