Hi there, I am completely new with Camtasia. My end product is blurry. I've watched some tutorials and read some articles, but haven't been able to solve this. Using Windows 10.
There are several possible causes that are not easy to understand. I'll list a few that you might consider.
- If you are working with screen video capture, one possible problem is distortion between the stages of recording/editing/production. This is the most likely cause of the issue you are having.
Fixing It: Always record, edit and produce the video at the same size and resolution. If you record 1280 by 720, leave it that size when editing in Camtasia editor. When you produce the final video, produce at the same size and select 75 percent quality setting.
- Also when working with screen captures, you might be capturing too small. Make your recording area large enough to capture a full picture.
Fixing It: This depends totally on what you want to capture. A useful rule of thumb is to set up your capture recording area so it is the most readable it can be. If it's not clear or causes eye strain to see details, change your computer screen resolution. I try to record the screen with the resolution set as appropriate for Item #1 above. If you are recording 1280 x 720, set your full screen resolution at that size and record it.
- High quality input leads to high quality output. As an extreme example, don't expect a fuzzy gif animation to resize bigger and retain any level of quality.
Fixing it: Start with high quality import images, videos, and recordings and maintain that same level of quality through editing and production. Rule of thumb measure: the bigger the file size, the higher the image or video quality. This is usually true for both input and output video.
- Good luck! This is a very high-level, generic set of recommendations. Reach out again if you have any specific questions.
