This is a question about the practicalities of using my own copy of Snagit on client sites. I'm a tech writer/instructional designer who often does short contracts, frequently the client site won't have SnagIt installed. If I purchase a SnagIt licence, then I can install that license on computers on the client site (if IT lets me) and then delete it again when I leave, right? All I need is to keep the serial number so I can download a copy and activate it on any client computer, right? Anything else I need to know?

I'm no lawyer but this is an excerpt from the TSLA . If you uninstall SnagIt when you leave, I would think you're covered. However, you should probably contact TechSmith support to confirm this.

1.5 Portable or Home Computer use. So long as You comply with the terms and conditions of this
TSLA as a condition to the license granted herein and subject to the important restrictions set
forth in Section 1.6, the primary user of the Computer on which the SOFTWARE PRODUCT or
SOFTWARE is installed under Section 1.2 ("primary user") may install a second copy of the
SOFTWARE for his or her exclusive use on either a portable Computer or a Computer located at
his or her home, provided that the SOFTWARE PRODUCT or SOFTWARE on the portable or
home computer is not used at the same time as the SOFTWARE PRODUCT or SOFTWARE on
the primary Computer. You may be required to contact Techsmith in order to make a second
copy.

Here's a link to the entire agreement. http://assets.techsmith.com/docs/pdf-snagit/Snagit-11-2-EULA.pdf
