I have been making a lot of videos via Camtasia 19.
Now suddenly my C drive is FULL.

After my video, I was saving the local file in E Drive and have deleted all files in E drive that camtasia made apart from the final mp4 which i have copied and saved elsewhere.
Problem is that camtasia has somehwere on my C drive made and saved either temp files or something like that.
by they way, I have also done Windows +R and gone to %temp% and then deleted all windows temp files in the temp folder. That was not the problem.

pls help. Where can i find any camtasia temp files anywhere. tx a lot

Are you saving videos and other content to the Library?

Downloading library assets to the Library?

The reason I ask?
When you add a small selection of a video from the timeline. That entire file, regardless of file size. Will be imported into the Library.
You can end up with duplicate files of many assets. Robbing you of a lot of storage space.

You can find the Library folder here.

I've seen a cumbersome workaround posted for this.

However, before Camtasia 2018's release. We could link content to the library, which eliminated all the riff raff and duplicate files seamlessly.

If you are creating your files from the Camtasia record feature, the original recording files, which can be large and possibly redundant. If you are going to need to edit the Camtasia projects later, you must save them or take steps to archive them using File > Export > Zipped Project. This actually saves not only the original recording, but the whole project file and any assets you have added, like external pictures or audio.

If you need those projects for later, zip them and store them off your C: drive. Here's another article on that:

If you won't ever need those projects, you can delete all of the Camtasia files except your output. And don't forget those recordings. On most installations, they are your Documents folder, within the Camtasia folder. For the record, I don't recommend this. Too many times I needed to find and use those recordings later. And offline storage is so cheap, it's low-cost insurance against ever needing the files again.

And here's how you find them.
1. Open a project with a recording file in it (one that was made using Camtasia Recorder).
2. Right-click the file and select Details.

3. On the first line of the details window, locate where your recordings are being stored.

4. Go to that directory and delete, or better yet, move the files with ".trec" extension off your C: drive.

A recent 2 hr screen recording (1920 x 800) created a 40+GB trec file! Even the zip will be huge. So I recommend placing the trec on large HDDs - 3TB HGST's w/ 3-to-5 yr warranties are going for less than $50 USD  on Amazon:
