I've seen images in the forum showing the new black ui.

First, I like black surrounding photos when editing photos.

Second.  I also like having black, or other dark color, in unnecessary areas to reduce eye strain.

Finally, someone please tell me all text on the black background is bright (bold) white.  If not, people with my vision issues (glaucoma-like) may be unable to read the text so allowing us to change the background color of menus, etc.  will help us.

have you tried using CS9 [download the free demo]?

the editor UI's text labels look like ther are not buld fonts, but I find the crisp and clear

one issue I have with the new UI design is the very small font size in many of the control areas, like the media bin and Library, the quizzing UI, many property text boxes, etc.]; I use a 1920x1080 24" monitor, and these items are extremely difficult to read and work with [I use computer glasses]

however, the new captions UI is a huge improvement because captions are edited with a canvas area control, and are displayed at large font sizes

recommend you download and try the free demo to see for yourself ...

When I was in elementary school my mother would hand me needle and thread.  I would look at the thread, see the frayed fibers, and put them through the eye of the needle one strand at a time.  Now, even the font of your reply is difficult because it is grey on white.  White on black appears to be a smaller font and has little contrast.

Combine small font and reduced contrast makes for difficult reading for many individuals.  Magnify.exe is a MS utility I now use frequently.

As for trying C9.  I will be purchasing it.  I will try it.  I will wait to implement it.  It was probably a year before I reinstalled CS8 after uninstalling it and being unable to produce a decent video.  Later, all was well.

I'm looking forward to the changes and even figuring out how to use C9 as there have already been changes reported that will make my workflow take longer.
