I've been successful in using my TV for watching programs that are on my MacBook (streamed via Netflix and recorded with Camtasia 2
Now I want to turn it around.
I need to download what's on my Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8240HDC TO
my MacBook. The back of my MacBook has Ethernet, FireWire, Thunderbolt and USB (2) ports.
The back of my Explorer 8240HDC has an inactive Firewire port, but also HDMI, SATA and S-Video ports.
Shouldn't I be able to connect the 2 devices, watch and record what's on the box?
I use Thunderbolt/HDMI TO the TV with mirroring ON to use the TV to watch what is on the MacBook.  How can I turn things around?

Hi there,

There might be some hardware out there that will help you accomplish that, but I'm not familiar with any. Maybe someone in the community is in your same situation and can chime in!
