It would be great if you could set the color, transparency, etc of a specific callout STYLE and it would save those settings for that particular callout Style. For example, if I had the "Arrow" callout properties set as "Red" with a medium transparency, AND then I needed to insert a text box callout, I could set the properties to be "White" with no transparency. Now if I go to insert another Arrow it would retain the "arrow" properties of Red and medium transparency. It is time consuming to have to change my settings each time go and insert another different style callout. I hope this makes sense. It would be great if this was in Release 8.

Hi John, thanks for the suggestion! In CS7, you can always use copy & paste to get the desired behavior. Simply right click on the callout you like, select copy, and then paste. It should maintain your settings.

If you are looking for something more permanent, right click on the callout you want and then select "Add to Library..." You can then use this customized callout whenever you want by dragging it down from the Library tab.

I hope this helps. Thanks!

I agree with Wagner: the default behaviour should be *automatic* saving of last visual style used for a specific call out. Copy/paste or Library force to additional unnecessary operations (more like a workaround).

David I have never tried before but, is it possible to have your Person Library pull from an external hard drive or USB Card? Just curious as this might help with loading time. I know I used to have a lot of items in my Camtasia Studio 7.1 Library but, it seemed to take awhile to load so is that something that is expected or not? I am sure I am not the only user who might have this question. Thanks and have a great day!

Hi Fred, I haven't noticed any differences between loading clips from the library vs. the clip bin.

It is possible for the library to pull your clips from an external hard drive or USB. However, by default, Camtasia will store a local copy of your content if this radio button is checked in Tools->options. http://screencast.com/t/EhuOtpZwvO

The fastest way to load your content is from an internal hard drive because the secondary storage devices usually take longer to send the data.

The new Camtasia Studio 8 does a much better job and automatically saving these settings!! You will also be allowed to select multiple callouts and change their properties simultaneously! Here's a quick glance of the new callouts
