Callout Text entry area - why so small?

This is something is that has concerned me ever since I started using Camtasia years ago. The area where you type in the callout text is so small that if you go beyond 30 point you need to scroll up and down especially if there are several lines of text. Makes it very tiresome when editing I see no reason why this area should be so small particularly nowadays when everyone has large monitors. I'm surprised nobody else has mentioned this. In MAGIX Video Pro X you can add text by double-clicking on a text object and typing it directly on the video preview window. Much more comfortable.

This is a valid issue; it has been mentioned many times over the years; I too feel that this part of the UI needs improving.

The same is true for the captions UI; if working with a large dimension project and 20 point font, the captions text is almost unreadable unless you are 2" from the monitor.

My workaround for the callouts text is to create the text in Notepad or Word, then copy/paste to the callouts text box, select all text, and lastly set the font.

An undockable UI window [like the canvas] that can be resized or full screened would be a big help

kayakman I think you and other uses along with myself would all agree on this subject matter. Maybe they will look into this and put it in the next update or at least make it a Feature Request and have it in the next version. Let us know TechSmith and thank you.

I am truly surprised that this was posted over 2 years ago, and in the recent updates in Camtasia this has not been addressed or  a solution offered.

I use Camtasia almost for all my video editing and production, and this is one feature I could really see being improved upon. It causes downtime that I try to avoid...

I agree with much of the concerns above that were stated, and I'm assuming this could be a simple fix, such as a pop out text box that can be easily re-sized on our desktop/laptop screen.

I really hope that this is one area that is being seriously looked at, as it's one that is not only extremely annoying to work with, but is something that prevents from using due to the ongoing tweaking I need to do in the text area to make everything right.

Hopefully this will be one that is addressed in future updates...

It would be even nicer when detaching the preview window to have the left-side contents spread across the screen evenly. Scroll bars would help, too.
