Yesterday all the screen captures and audio-recording I had made the previous day disappeared from the temp folder. I saw in the community that this is a previous problem with previous versions. but previously recommended fixes didn't solve the problem.

The default behavior when you save a project in Camtasia Mac is that it moves all of the recordings in the saved .cmproj.  So if you do a recording, and then save the project as 'MyProject.cmproj', the recording will be moved.  If you open up the saved project, the recording should be there.

Nope, came up with an File missing error I was able to relink pictures I had put into the file but recordings I made from camatasia are gone, I have done a search on my mac for the files and tried show hidden files in folder to no luck. I also haven't changed the default setting for Camatasia.

In the System Preferences, do you have either of these iCloud options enabled?

I had the desktop & documents folders enabled, the cloud drive was already full and I searched there as well not finding the files.

HYes
There are some files that the program list as missing but not most of them. I'm afraid I'm just going to have to bite the bullet and re-record this project, going to set up time-machine first just in case.

There is something really weird going on. :(  Unfortunately I think your files have been deleted.  Could you do one more thing?  Could you paste the first 50 lines of the project.tscproj file here?  Open it up with TextEdit.  It will not help recover your files, but it might help us prevent this from happening again.

It looks like something strange happens when a project is saved.  I am not sure what it is, or why it is only happening to certain people.  The project.tscproj contains the paths it expects to find the files, but my hunch is that somehow these no longer match the actual file system.

I am embarrassed to say I believe I figured out what happened tonight. (Don't judge me it's a new computer and I am not used to cloud drive and why would they name a cloud drive desktop)

I was looking for some unrelated files on my desktop and discovered that they had disappeared also. While I thought I had everything saved to my desktop on my local computer it seems that I had it saved to the iCloud desktop. I only had 5 GB of storage on iCloud which I quickly filled up.

My theory is that the iCloud drive being full iCloud prevented the file from being saved and the temp files got removed because of the save attempt.
