Are you working on kicking up Camtasia to support the new Ultra HD 4k format?

Count me in as well, 4k support seems like a must today ! A lot of my assets are now in 4K (Screen grabs and videos).

Hi Everyone!

We want to thank you for your patience while we worked to make Camtasia work with 4k.  We are pleased to announce that we have just released our newest, most powerful version of Camtasia yet. This Camtasia release will allow you create and work with 4k content. It requires a powerful machine, so I suggest you check out this support article and then try for yourself.

You can buy Camtasia here or download the trial here.

Please feel free to post your feedback and feature requests here in our Community forums and remember, all technical support-related inquiries should be directed to our dedicated Technical Support team at https://support.techsmith.com/

Thanks again!

Any idea when we might see this update on Camtasia for Mac? I'm recording screen content on a 5K screen and have plenty of memory and processing power to work with 4K content. Would really love to know the status of when this will be available.

The current version of Camtasia for Mac can record, edit and produce 4K content.

I have 2.10.8
I can record in 4K but when I try to Share using Advanced Export and then click on options, it only goes up to 1920x1080 and when I try to enter a custom resolution for 4K it pops up with a dialog box stating that the maximum resolution is 1920x1080.

I checked for updates and received a dialog stating that I am up to date.

The latest version is 3.0.3, but 2.10.8 supports 4K as well.

Not being able to change the custom resolution to 4K in the advanced options is a bug, but it is not what you want to do anyway.  That will stretch out your content to fill 4K, which will result in a poor quality video.

What you want to do is change your canvas size to 4K.  Select "Adjust Canvas" under the "Edit Menu".

Now when you go to export,  your default dimensions will be 4K, so you use the regular Export, or if you still want to use Advanced Export, set the Dimensions to "Current".

Version 3.0 was released back in October.  I am not sure why you were not notified that a new version was available.   Version 3.0 is a paid upgrade, but you can try out in trial mode for free.  https://www.techsmith.com/camtasia-upgrade.html
