Is camtasia 2 not in the App Store anymore? I tried to look for an update since the version I have (2.10.4) doesn't show the cursor under Mac OS Sierra, but I found only a Camtasia 3 which costs 2x the other... Am I entitled to have a working version of Camtasia 2 or am I screwed? Thanks

Try looking for it under purchases.

I have registered inside my copy of Camtasia 2, then I selected "my purchases" in the Camtasia 2 menu and I was simply redirected to the store page.
If I select "My Products" in my account page at Techsmith, I'm asked to submit a software key which I don't have because I bought the software at the App Store.
So no luck anywhere, unfortunately.

Look in the Purchases Tab in the Apple App Store application not the one inside Camtasia.

Yes, it's there in my purchases at the App store, but it's the old version (2.10.4) I already have

Are you trying to install Camtasia2 or activate it?

That is indeed the latest version in the app store, because Apple would not let us update it any further without a bunch of modifications (long story). So, the latest version of 2.X is NOT available in the App Store.

Never fear, however. You can contact our customer service department, and show them your receipt for your App Store purchase, and we can get you a NON-app store version of Camtasia to use. You'll also have the ability to buy v3 at the upgrade price, which we can't do on the App Store.

For any software you buy from the app store, you can usually download it from the purchases tab in the apple mac app store, even if the app is no longer offered for sale.

In the case of Camtasia, you also have another option. If you open a support ticket at https://support.techsmith.com/hc/en-us you can explain your situation and I believe they will convert your "App Store" license to a "direct" license. The licenses are mostly the same, with one key difference: Apple's App store does not allow for upgrade pricing for existing customers.  This is why Camtasia 3 is listed there at the full price. Once you convert your license, you'll be eligible to purchase the Camtasia 3 upgrade at a discount.
