When I'm in the video editing, the keystrokes feature is not working and it's not possible to add them since they are disabled in the menu modify, add effects, visual effects, the keystroke is not allowed (it's grey while the others are whites and selectable). I'm using Camtasia 2018.0.8

No one has this problem?

I'm happy about the software but I'm really upset for this issue! It never works!

No one from the staff can give me an answer to fix it? Maybe it's a bug? Absurd :(

I'm on Windows so I don't know if this is of any help but

When you did the recording did you use any keyboard strokes.

Put another way.

Were you making the recording with the Camtasia recorder?
And while making that recording did you type with any keys like a keycombo  eg; Alt +V ?

In Windows while making a recording if you Do Not type anything there is no keystroke data recorded for keystrokes to be shown in the editor and the keystroke option is greyed out.

You would have to add keystroke images to the timeline.

Don't know if its the same for Macs but thats how it is in Windows Camtasia.

Thank you Dubie!

During the recording, I’m making a tutorial in Lightroom so some times I use some keystroke like “/“ or “y” or “CMD+left mouse click” and so on....and it’s a long waste of time adding manually the recording later because you must vigeva second by second the long video.
I usually record the screen of my iMac 5k or a portion 1920x1080p at 30fps (better because it’s not possible to use a canvas 1440p). Anyway I need be keystrokes function that is not recorded airing the video recording .
It wasn’t working in the trial version and I thought it was because it was a trial! So I bought it and ot doesn’t work as well.

Do anyone have other advices to fix something that the software should do?

Thank you

Claudio

Right now at least, Camtasia doesn't count single-key strokes as an event for "keystroke callouts." It only takes note of keypresses that include a modifier, like command. ("c" would not generate a callout automatically, but "command+c" would)

However, you can add your own here:
