Camtasia 2018 Recording - stops recording audio

I record my screen during zoom sessions. Today I set Camtasia 2018.0.7 to record the screen, system audio and my mic (headset) in case I had to talk on there.

I had my mic (headset) muted as I didn't want it to record me unless I was speaking.
Meeting was a little over 40 minutes

Camtasia created 3 tracks
system audio
audio
screen

It recorded the screen for the full time
it stopped recording both audio tracks  (see image)

What happened?

I've seen this error reported on several occasions.

Try dragging the audio tracks to the right, exposing the rest of the audio.
It doesn't always work.
But its worked for others in the past.

Regards,Joe

This is very frustrating to spend good money and have things not work.  Not to mention the time wasted making a longer video with the audio stopping.

This has happened to me several times now.   Dragging the audio tracks to the right didn't work for me.  The worst part is that during recording, there is every indication that the audio IS in fact being recorded.  Re-narrating my videos has become a small part of my routine now and it's incredibly frustrating.

I have now re-recorded 3 times only to have Camtasia stop recording the audio at about the 10 minute mark each time.  Very frustrating and a surprise because it has worked fine previously.  I tried turning off the device and turning it back on before the most recent recording.  Is there any other way to sort of reboot Camtasia?

Have you tried a repair install?

This image is Camtasia 9 but the steps apply to virtually all versions of Camtasia.

I know a deeper reset technique. But it will reset the program to a like new installed state. You will lose user preferences, the recent files list will be cleared. Its literately like a fresh install .If it works its wort it, if it doesn't you can revert back. But its a last ditch effort.

Repair install leaves most settings alone.
