The video about it says it's  a   $90 upgrade unless you bought Camtasia in the last 30 days..  Then it is free.

Personally I'm not sure I will need the new features enough to warrant $90.  We shall see.  I usually wait for 3 versions to pass before upgrading ... with me  making videos is just a hobby, and making training or 'here's how' videos is similarly just a hobby.

There is a fee as it is a significant upgrade. Generally speaking, if "point" upgrades happen, those are included with what you paid for. But if you are moving from an older version, you need to purchase a license. And it's usually at a reduced rate if you are coming from an older version. But that may depend on exactly how old of a version you are upgrading from.

Cheers... Rick :)

Or if you pay maintenance ($50/yr) you get major upgrades free.  Plus now you get the free Camtasia Certification course.

I don't use Camtasia quite as much as I use to but I'll pay the 2018 upgrade price I still see though they haven't done anything about the all Black Background for us folks wit eye problems should match SnagIt 2018 ability use a Light or Black background. ... Oh well. What do expect from a software companies. They are just out for the money anyway.  I'm an avid Mac user since 1986. And I've had suffer through and deal with Software Companies lack of Mac enthusiasm. Tendency to ignore Mac User request.

Hello everybody, hello Techsmith-Team

Okay, so tomorrow is supposed to be Camtasia-2018-day.
I wanted to know how to get to the version? I read that Techsmith wants to write to all eligible users, but the software was purchased by the company I work for and I as a user will probably not be informed at all.

I bought Camtasia 9 on 6/7/2018 with 1 year additional maintenance.
I would be happy if I could download the new version tomorrow :)

Being you have had Camtasia 9 only a few days. You should be able to get the update free.  I had to pay for my upgrade even though I thing when I bought the three update I pad for the year maintenance. I bought with Year free upgrade service. Again. One thing I did notice even though they didn't chage backgrougrand they did chnge font golor charcoal gray to white. It is little more readable.
