Camtasia 2018 will not start at all

Out of the blue and even after reboots and even a repair/reinstall, Camtasia 2018 will not even start on my 32 GB ram Dell Laptop.   What happened and how does one fix that?   Happened at a very critical time too which has given me MAJOR PAUSE about continuing with this product.

I also appears the error has been going on for awhile now ... I do recall trying to get this work done by opening the program and moving on to other things while waiting and then forgetting about it because it never started ... hence the urgency to use it now as I was supposed to have gotten started awhile back ... this is bad.

final piece to the likely issue ... going on a fresh machine and using my software key and THAT fails ... perhaps the true reason for the issue?  still, a fail as to how we got there ... what ever happened to the pop up "you license is invalid" or whatever you want to say ...
If it is a case of "renewal"  my current thought is NOT ...

You should probably open a ticket with Tech Support. It's free and I've found them to be very responsive.

I just discovered I'm unable to open it either. It isn't running in the background either. It starts up in Task Manager, and then dies without ever opening on the screen.

In my case, I use Windows and there is something called the "Event Log" ... use the start button to look for it ... look under Windows Logs and look for application ... go ahead and attempt a start of the program and you will see "errors" show up in the log ... that is what you should send to tech support before doing what I did which was to proactively delete the program completely and attempting to reinstall it ... They need to fix the original problem. Thanks!

With those issue I would personally put in a support ticket to TechSmith as they are usually great at getting back during working hours and are more equipped to diagnose your issues you are having. This is not the official tech support as it is a users community forum. Although there are some users who are experienced enough to help with some issues. Thanks for that ... the first set of links I had originally sent me here so a little persistence from the regular web site did get me there though I will say the first response to this issue was that my license keys are not for Camtasia 2018 but for Camtasia 9 which, I believe was updated to 2018 when I said yes to the upgrade earlier in the year ... I think they are saying I "reinstall" the lesser version and somehow let it "upgrade" again?  I will find out because I have been using 2018 for months and months now and it does not make sense for it to work that way ... more later

Not sure ralph_rivas for sure but if you had Camtasia Studio Version 9 then an upgrade to Camtasia 2018 would have costed some money to upgrade as it is not the same Version Number. If you paid for the upgrade from Version 9 to Camtasia 2018 then yes I would be talking to them if I was in your shoes for sure. But if there was no payment then the upgrade is not free.

I have never seen going from a previous version to a whole new version for free myself. Keep us informed and thanks for posting. Post back what you find out and have a great day/night.
