Camtasia 2019 Windows - Detached Canvas Window resizes due to transitions/annotations

I work with dual, 2-k monitors. I detach my canvas so I can edit in one screen, see the detail on another.

I Record in 2560x1440; edit/share in 1080p. Whenever I drag an annotation or transition to the timeline, it'll minimize the canvas. So I have to stop what I'm doing to maximize the canvas. This is delaying my editing workflow.

I'm aware that I can shift + N/Shift + T for annotation/transition. We're taking hours of editing on multiple videos.

This cannot be a feature, please advise what can be done.

It's a bug, I can reproduce the error using 2019.0.4.
I can drag annotations directly to the canvas area and it doesn't happen.

It needs to be reported to tech support. I'm wrapping things up for the night, won't be opening a ticket tonight.Need to install latest version and test again.

Suggest you open a ticket.

I've been editing in 2018 and was unaware of this.

Sorry, Joe.

Should have led with "I submitted a ticket prior to posting here."

Thank you for the quick reply and your wealth of knowledge.

Update, per Tech Support:

Hey Paul,

Thanks for that. I just wanted to confirm those were updated and in good shape.

Unfortunately, you are actually running into a known issue right now. Its currently logged and in the process of being fixed. However, I do not know when exactly it will be fixed.

At this time there isn't a workaround unfortunately. Would you like me to put your ticket on hold and then inform you when it has been fixed?

I am running 2019.0.7. It is frustrating to have to click the maximize button every time I add transitions or annotations.

TechSmith...please fix this! :)

Yeah, going to go ahead and reply to this. Editing multiple screen recordings today, and this is a fervently felt painpoint.

Hey,I had the same issue and contacted the Helpdesk and they sent me an updated version that has that bug fixed so I'd hassle Aaron Y and he may be able to send you the fixed version also!

Aaron Y. from Tech Support gave me a developer build, which fixes this issue.
