Camtasia 2020 : How to create customizable text placeholders in intros/outros ?

Camtasia 2020 introduces templates. When creating new content from one of the built-in template you can easily change the text of shapes in intros and outros by editing fields in the 'Quick Properties' pannel.

I have created custom intros of my own and I would like to create this kind of 'Quick Properties' pannel, so that I can save these assets to my library and quickly reuse and customize them in other projects.

But I have not found any documentation on how to create this 'Quick Properties' pannel for a group of text boxes.

That functionality is not currently exposed to end users, only assets that ship with the product and assets from https://library.techsmith.com/ support Quick Properties at the moment.

Thanks for this reply Clint - perhaps my question is related. I see the Intro / Outro elements in the 2020 template video project but nowhere in the UI (or Help topics) to create these. Short of cloning and saving the template video examples, how is one to create these? Is there no way at this time?

PS - Folks I stopped getting *any* forum post notifications a few months ago and cannot solve this. Settings that I can find look correct, any input is appreciated. Happy New Year to all.

You can also find a bunch of intros/outro templates on Callouts. We now have over 600 Camtasia templates and more coming every month.

See an overview of templates here:
https://www.callouts.com/all-files/camtasia-templates/

Disclosure: This is a pay-for-product, created by SoftwareCasa, not affiliated with TechSmith.

If you really like that *particular* intro and outro, you can save it to your Library and it will still be themable and customizable.

If you would like more variety, there are a lot more of them to choose from here: https://library.techsmith.com/camtasia/assets/Customizable/ and many of these are free. These can also be themed and customized.

As far as creating them from scratch: at the moment there isn't a way for customers to do that yet.

Thanks - lots of variety, I'll look around and settle on one of those. So they are launched into Media Bin or ? That's the last piece I need.

PS - Just chatted with Robert R and I understand the community post notifications are going through a "period of transition".

You can either download them directly and open them as .libzip files, or choose to "Open in Camtasia" off the website and they will install to your Downloads Library.

You can save customized assets to your Library but DO NOT Ungroup them if you want to retain the Quick Properties.

If you do, the Quick Properties disappear.

I've taken a bunch of the Intros / Outros and deleted everything inside the Group except for the Text Callouts and ended up with blocks I can reuse that have Quick Properties...

Thanks for the tip ! I have have been able to repurpose one of the customizable intros to get exactly what I wanted. I whish there was a simpler method through the application, but this is an good workaround.
