Camtasia 3 Export Problem: Black Videos Only!

Hello Techsmith Community,

Just recently moved from Windows to MacOS. Got myself the newest Macbook Pro 2017 and was so hyped to work with it. I am a big Camtasia fan for easy/fast edits and the Camtasia screen recorder. Installed Camtasia 3 on my Mac, but whenever I try to export the project (or the screen recording I just made), the video is just completely black and no audio is playing

Anyone having the same issues on their Mac? Any suggestions what could help? Been already in contact with the Camtasia Support Team, but they do not know how to help either after trying tons of things out with me.

Exporting the introduction projects works though. Putting this rendered video into Camtasia again and then exporting results in a black video again.

I also noticed that if I put any video file above the introduction project tracks and render it, the video above just gets completely ignored as if it is transparent. Only the introduction project is shown in the exported video.

Would be happy about any idea or your experience with a similar issue. Thanks!

I have a Mac Bool Pro 2017 and don't have a problem exporting. I do a lot of photo editing on mine so it is maxed out for RAM and drive. Have you tried exporting to an external USB drive? Start simple and see what happens. Bill

Thanks you Bill for the suggestion!
Tried it but the result was still the same.

Also tried the old Camtasia 2 and rendering worked properly here.
But it really lacks many features and screen recording works, but after rendering the quality became extremely low (tried different settings).
Rendering normal videos was fine though.

Just wanna use Camtasia 3 on my Mac :/
Currently still using my old windows laptop for my videos.

Hm, pretty strange. I'm assuming Tech Support is still trying to help you dig through the problem? Have they gotten one of your projects to try it with?

Charles, I'd offer the same advice to you- for odd production issues like this it's best to contact Tech Support so they can get a closer look at your particular machine and try to troubleshoot it better.
