I am working on a pretty large Camtasia file 120MB. Now every 30 seconds Camtasia locks up and freezes. I have to Force Stop the application.  I am about to switch back to Adobe.

Camtasia 3.0.3 (98596

iMac  macOS 10.12.2
4 GHz Core i7  32 GB RAM
Radeon R9 4096 MB

The best way to get help with a problem like that is to open up a ticket with our technical support : https://support.techsmith.com/hc/en-us/requests/new  This is a free service.

My latest Camtasia project file was 672 MB and Camtasia 3.0.0 was perfectly stable.

I started to narrow it down, I was using the behaviors on and object... to have it side on and then slide out. When I copied or have too many of the same behaviors in a row is when it freezes.

You should do as Steven Wagner suggests, opening a ticket with technical support.

In that large production I mentioned, there are more than 50 clips with had various behaviors attached, so the basic functionality seems stable on my computer:
Camtasia 3.0.0
OSX 10.11.6
16GB memory

Ricky,

Contact Tech Support. It is stable for the vast majority of us.

It's always crashing for me too and it's driving me nuts! I can't get anything done and just cross my fingers hoping it will not freeze up my entire computer. Camtasia 2 was much better...didn't have this problem.

I ended up using Camtasia for Windows on my Apple (on Parallels).  That is stable.  I just couldn't have it crashing all the time.

Hi Harrimw.

Have you opened a Support Ticket? What is your ticket number so I can look into the steps that our Support Agent has taken to address the issue for you.

I had to do a complete re-install of the OS and resinstall Camtasia. Painful to say the least. However, since then it has been running ok. Touch wood!

What I find amusing (and yet very frustrating) is how many "open a ticket with tech support" comments there were, and we did, and nothing was fixed.
