Camtasia 7 on Win7: recording camera peroduces .wmv but not a .camrec

I have Camtasia Studio 7 on Win7. Last night I made my first-ever "record camera" video.Besides the picture being very small, which I saw discussed in a post, I am having a problem when saving. I can make a .camproj file but the video itself can only e saved as a .wmv file. I've read about recording the camera in the Camtasia 7 doc and I did not see it talk about this. Why don't I get a .camrec file?? Also, I can to copy the output to a flash drive for backup. but I cannot find it. If I ask to export it, Camtasia wants me to get a zip file of the entire Camtasia library.

So 1) why don't I get a camrec file and why can't I see the .wmv file? Thanks.

it's been awhile since I've used CS7, but as I recall doing a "record camera" resulted in a WMV clip

that clip on the timeline can be produced to any desired video file format, like MP4

camrec files result from doing a screen capture using Recorder; the camrec files is actually a wrapper that contains the video [AVI], audio, and cursor details

if you do a screen capture and simultaneous capture the camera [all using Recorder], you get a camrec [screen] and a wmv [camera stream]

re camera size, on my laptop, camera clips come out at 640x480; there is also an option to use a smaller size

again, produce the WMV to get an MP4 using the production wizard; if you want to save the "project" that you use to produce the video, export the project as zip
