This just started with my latest project.
I'm recording the screen of a web interface to instruct viewers how to accomplish certain tasks.
After I record the video action and bring the video into the project, anytime there is a mouse click on the screen, the mouse (and mouse effects) is displayed in the wrong place. It stays in the wrong place only during the click and then when the mouse is moved again, it "jumps back" to where it truly is.
So basically, the cursor movement is fine except for any mouse clicks. The mouse jump is also constant. What I mean by that is that no matter where I click on the screen, the cursor will jump approximately half an inch down and two inches to the left. This jump happens with our without cursor effects.
Things I've tried so far:
I produced the video to see the error only happened during the editing process. But the produced video also has the cursor jump.
I re-recorded the video in both the original project.
I started a new project.
I rebooted the system.
I changed the resolution on monitor.
Turned cursor effects on and off.
I found this post:https://feedback.techsmith.com/techsmith/topics/cursor_shown_in_the_wrong_place_camtasia_studio that references a solution link to an error in Camtasia 7 due to DPI scaling in Win XP and 7. AFAIK my DPI scaling is still default.
I'm running Camtasia Studio 8.6.0 on Lenovo 541 laptop, 32 gigs of RAM, Windows 8.1 64bit, Intel i7-4810MQ, NVidia Quadro K2100M
