Camtasia 8 zoom into part of the screen

Is it possible to increase the size of a section of the screen in Camtasia 8? For example, I have a help video that is a selection of screen grabs and I want to indicate that users should click on a certain link. I don't want to use a box callout or highlight but rather have that link increase in size for a second or so and for the rest of the screen grab to be unaffected.

An example is in this video https://youtu.be/UTFZjBa1foA where sections of the screen grab are picked out and made larger for a few seconds then go back to normal. I hope this is in any way making sense :)

This should get you sorted.

A simple zoom.

Something a little more professional.

Nice job, Dubie!

I do this, too!  It is a very useful tool to not only show the detail, but provide the learner a visual stimulus and a way to focus on that which is key to the topic!

Hi, thanks again for this. I'm following the video and trying to copy the image I want to create the pop out on but the copied image will only paste in the same track and not in a new track as in the video. Can you help?

I'm not sure what image or piece of media you're trying to copy and paste is. Or why you can't seem to do it?
But that's really not critical. Because if its on your timeline, it is also in your media bin. You could drag it from the media bin down to your timeline and place it on the track above in that manner. Provided, there isn't something in the track above preventing you from doing so. If there is, you will have to put it on a higher track.

There isn't a higher track or a track above, which is why it is not pasting. As per OP it's a screen grab I'm trying to copy to create a pop out. Here's a capture of my screen to show the different tracks. Can't find anywhere to add a new track to allow me to paste these copied images into?

Okay my previous response was an error so I removed it.
It's been so long since I've use Camtasia seven I simply forgot how to use it.
There is a picture-in-picture track and you have to add it through the track menu.
You start by left clicking the track menu and selecting PIP track.

At that time the P I P track will be added to the timeline. Then, with the timeline indicator placed in the proper position at the beginning of the media/start of the clip. You can right-click the media from the media bin. And select add to PIP track.

Then you will be greeted with a pop up window asking if you want to have a floating window or if you want to preview the PIP track on top of the video track. What you should be looking for is a non-floating window that you will be cropping and popping out.
I'm assuming that's the procedure I haven't actually watched the video? But I know a picture-in-picture setting isn't going to work.

Camtasia 7 does not function well on a Windows 10 system. As soon as I added the video that I was working with to the picture-in-picture track. The canvas went black and I couldn't apply any effects to the video. To see if I could make the popout effect work. Be it through procedures lined out in the video, or something I might dream up myself.

Regards, Joe

Thank you for taking the time to reply to me on this. Your solution above has worked and with some tweaking I think it will give me kind of what I'm looking for. If only my company would upgrade the version I could access! Thanks again
