Camtasia 9.1 Recorder Preview not working?

Has anyone noticed that the Preview window that can be configured to come up after a Recording is stopped doesn't play in CS 9.1?

I get a blank window and pressing Play does nothing...

Thanks,

Hello Lon,

I'm sorry to hear that's happening! Just to clarify, is it the preview from this option in the Recorder Tool Options that is not playing for you?

Thanks,
Sydney

Yes Sydney. After recording a full screen of data, I get a blank Preview. Play button does nothing. I can't seem to upload a screenshot here for some reason (says BAD_GATEWAY).

The TREC seems to actually be OK...

Thanks!

Same behavior here. Also tried the Shrink to fit option and oddly, resizing the preview has odd effects.

I personally do not use Recorder's post-capture Previewer.  However, I often configure Recorder to use the Editor as a post-capture previewer; this enables me to both preview and edit [usually just to add cursor effects and make audio cuts]; then I just stick that edited clip in the Library for use in a project; I then command a new project, and move on to the next capture ...

This issue started, with me,  after updating to version 9.1.

I need this option, so back one step waiting for a resolution.

Same problem. The video is there but I too get a blank white screen. I suspect that the video is being defaulted to a frame back from the actual start frame. Possibly a -1. This only started on 9.1. I believe the preview does not think theres anything to play. Its not critical but theres also no reason to have it come up with nothing either.

I need this back as well, as I use it regularly to check and make sure my mic is picking up audio. I've downgraded to 9.0 until this is fixed.

I'm a huge fan of TechSmith products.  I have no problem with bugs creeping in (I'm a developer myself), but to wait months and still nothing.  I know it's not a show stopper, but this feature (now broken) is very important in many of our workflows.

We have a fix.  It will be released with the next maintenance release, version 9.1.1, which will be a free update for anyone with version 9.x.  The release is currently going through our release process.  As long as nothing unexpected comes up, it should be released soon.  Sorry for the inconvenience this bug has caused, and thanks for your patience as we work to get the fix out to everyone.
