Camtasia 9 Audio issues after split and move

Using Camtasia 9. I have a video that I have added an audio file to. They are separate tracks. In order to align the audio to the video I have split the audio and moved along the timeline. Now at the locations where I've split the audio the end of the first section cuts off and the start of the section part of the split does not start until several seconds into where it should start. Doesn't do this everywhere I've created the split.

Camtasia has issues with audio exported from else that is not 44100 and 16 but.
I find using audacity to convert my audio before moving it to Camtasia sorts this out.
What are the specs for your audio and what did you use to record it?

Here's a great article that explains best practices that could help you while recording your audio: https://goo.gl/zabkwF

I used Audacity and exported the audio as MP3.
