camtasia 9 audio recording

I recorded a slide but when I played it in Camtasia editor, there was no sound. I then tried to test my mic and speakers by just recording audio and in both Camtasia 8 and Camtasia 9, there was no sound when they played back. I did not previously have this problem with Camtasia 8. I checked that my computer was not on mute and the audio level was high. Is there some setting I have to change on my computer or in Camtasia 8 and 9?

I tested the narration function in Camtasa 9 and it played back with sound.

Thanks for whatever guidance you can provide.

Hello Chris;

With Camtasia open, I'd like you to right-click on the speaker icon in the lower right corner of your screen (by your computer's system clock) and choose "Open Volume Mixer" and locate Camtasia's entry; is the volume turned down or is it muted?

I'm having a similar problem with the audio.  I've gone through and checked everything I could think of;  recording settings   I have checked audio on, the indicator is at max to see if it is low system settings,  audio toolbar is on, options shows that the stereo mixer is set, capture is set to record audio, and still no sound.

As a further test, I downloaded the Movavi Video Suite and it had no problem recording the very first time.  I had not changed any option and it captured audio without a hitch.  What do you think is happening?
