Camtasia 9 Mouse Cursor "Stutters" Screen Recording

I am having a very strange issue where my mouse has noticeable lag/stutter whenever I am doing a screen recording. For the most part the mouse moves perfectly, but every 15-20 seconds my mouse will stop wherever it is for 1-2 seconds, and then "teleport" to the correct/current location. Whenever this happens it will occur twice back to back, and then return to normal for 15-20 seconds before doing it again. In my recordings it will look like my mouse freezes for no reason, and I almost always end up having to redo whatever action I was in the middle of. In some cases I can easily edit around these issues, but it has gotten to the point where it happens in all the recordings I do. My computer's specs are more than high enough to run camtasia, and I have never had this issue before with any other pc I've used, wiht this version of camtasia or previous versions, even computers  that were slightly below the recommended specs were fine.

I am currently on Camtaisa 9.1.4, but this issue has been occurring for months.

If you don't apply cursor effects in the editor. You can try recording to avi instead of .trec.

This is a bug that pops up with some users from time to time in this forum. Recording to avi seems to be the best solution.

Normally I do like to edit the Cursor size, since I normally use a high resolution and small cursor size, but I guess I could just change my cursor size for my desktop. Does anyone know the actual source of this bug though?

There are limitations with recording to avi. You cannot capture system audio and a microphone at the same time. It's one or the other.
You can capture cursor effect but there burned in and cannot be edited.
This is a Camtasia  8 screen shot. Other version are the same.

So I was looking around the forum. A cause reported in the past was screen resolutions/magnification levels set to something other than 100%.

So,

Hey Joe, thank you for continuing to search/follow-up.

I looked in to it, and my display scale is currently set to 100%, but the issue persists. I also tried unplugging my laptop from my dock, and that did not work either.

That probably counts as a strike against you. Win 7  was the most popular operating system when this issue was reported widely. Camtasia 8 was the program affected.
Windows 7, to the best of my knowledge. Hasn't had any operating system updates since 2015. All you win 7 users get is security updates.

So on top of everything else. The operating system just gets more antiquated with every passing day. January 2020, No more security updates.

That's not that far off. You might want to start thinking about making a move now? If your system is as antiquated as the operation system. You might want to start looking into replacing it. Labor day special. Black Friday deal.

You can run it by tech support as well. I'm pretty sure their tell you to record in avi.But you never know unless you talk to them first.

That sucks, because I am using Camtasia at work, and I do not have any control over which version of Windows we use. Supposedly we will start updating to windows 10 soon, but I guess I'm just out of luck until that happens.

I'm also on the most recent version of Camtasia 9, so issues with Camtasia 8 should not be affecting me.

I have already reached out to tech support, and got some assistance form them, but I posted here as well in case someone else had a similar experience.

Thanks for all of your help so far.

Hi everyone
I have the same problem of bug of the mouse during the recording of video with camtasia 9 under windows 10. it functions at the beginning of the recording then it stops of a space and the windows open normally but the mouse does not move for 15 to 20 seconds then it restarts on its own. I tried to record with avi instead of trec but the cursor effects do not work until back to trec ...... is there a solution for this bug and thank you in advance.
