Camtasia 9 Recordings

Where are the recordings going?

I have been using Camtasia since the very beginning and have a question with the new version.  I have recorded the screen and normally with my training I will record a group of recording before I put together a project.

When I record with the new version I don't see where the recording is being placed.  With the old versions I could stop the recording and save that section in a folder and then proceed with additional recordings.  When I finished the recordings I could assemble those recordings into a project.

It does not seem like this version allows that, it goes right into a project and I can't seem to locate where the actual recording is.  What is up with that?

Does it not allow us to have multiple recordings before assembling a project?  If that is the case that will be a show stopper for many of your users.

Can someone explain what I am missing with this new version, I cannot imagine it was designed that way.

Thank you,

Mike

go into Recorder's Tools/Options/Program tab and change the workflow section to "save" from the default "auto"

auto puts a 1st capture on timeline, additional captures in bin

use Recorder's Tools/Options/General tab to set the destination of the output folder

Thanks for the input, I had played with it some more and just figured that out.  I have to assume that I needed to do that with the previous versions also and just had forgotten the setup from Version 8 to 9.

Thanks again for the help.  That works much better.

Uggg...total PITA. Why not just let me Save where I want & name my recordings what I want when I stop recording like CS 8? Big productivity downer...

you can still do that

set Recorder to save after capture, and to ask for the file name

it's how I use it
