Camtasia 9 Thumbnail

I have created about 14 videos and in all cases, except one, the thumbnail for the resulting mp4 is the 1st frame. I have tried everything I can think of to get this one video to produce the same way without success. I know about 'Export Frame As...', however, I do not want to Pause on start.
Is there any other way to ensure it uses the first frame?

have you tried putting a 1 second image of the desired thumbnail image at the beginning of the project; do a custom production to MP4 w/controller, not set to pause at start, set keyframes at 1 second

I gave up on Camtasia and did it this way:

Change Video Thumbnails in Windows

The best application for the job is Apple's iTunes.

Import the video from wherever it is on your hard drive, right-click on the automatically generated thumbnail and choose Get info.

Switch to the Artwork tab and you can add any image you like here.

You can export the desired frame from Camtasia by positioning the playhead on the frame you want, then click Share > Export Frame As... and saving the image as a file.

iTunes will update the metadata registered with the file and you'll the thumbnail you want the next time you take a look at the video in File Explorer.

Depending on how your media library is set up, you might need to tweak the settings in iTunes to make sure you are working on the original file and not a copy that the program has created. Open up the Preferences option from the main menu and switch to the Advanced tab to check. You can if you wish remove the video from your library afterwards, though make sure you do not delete the actual file when prompted.
