soo let me start with a "sorry" cause in a brazilian and my english fail some times ;3;
but ok?
soo when i start my camtasia they say "We're sorry! Camtasia Studio failed to create a video memory resource. The rendering engine will be restarted in software-only mode"
i know this is caused because my computer is a full trash but this NEVER make any trouble e-e
(but if i can remove this) soo i tried with 2 diferent videos (mp4 format) and after i cut they some times they give me another error "We're sorry! An error has occurred with the following clip on the timeline: C:\Users\blablabla\Documents\Camtasia Studio\bloblo\bloblo.camrec!Screen_Stream.avi.
The clip may not produce correctly."
soo i just save and re-open cantasia and continue editing the video :v
but when i need renderize the big poblem start they said the "same" thing but with "camtasia studio cannot complete the production of this project" :/
i make 2 videos but only with mp3 and images and everthing has ok ,this started when i tried to edit my first mp4 "movie" :/ i really need to fix camtasia because is the most easy and good editor i found ^^

Hello,
Sorry to hear of your difficulties; you will not get much done until you fix the computer issues. Those warnings are not at all normal. When your PC provides a proper environment the program will operate as intended.

One other thing that may help you is to use a free app called "handbrake" that will convert your video files and make them easier for camtasia to handle. That is another thing you can try to download and use. Cebron

Hello, Kenny;

As not all media files are created equally using a tool like HandBrake to transcode files to industry standards may address the issue (as @cebron recommends). I would like you to try using HandBrake on the file first then bring in the newly created MP4 file (from HandBrake) and see if the issues persist.

Hi,

I'm also having this issue with Camtasia.  I'm attempting to edit a 10minute MP4 file (that was converted from a WMV file with Handbrake) and can't keep the program stable (crashes every 4 minutes or so) or produce a 480p MP4 file without get a run time error.  Any advice? It's driving me crazy.

Thanks,
Al

How many different videos do you have in your edit? Is it a lot of different pieces or one single video with different cuts?

It's one single video that has numerous cuts.

Hello, Alton;

How large is the camproj file itself? Are any of the source files, or is the project file, stored on a network drive, external hard drive, or in a synchronized folder (such as OneDrive or Dropbox)?

Hi Robert,

The camproj file is 211KB.  The project file is stored on my harddrive.

Hello, Alton;

Does this happen with all MP4 files or this one in particular? If you add the MP4 file to a new project, do you experience the same issue?

Yes, it's seems to be happening with any file I import.  I attempted to create another project to edit a different portion of the file and it works for a few minutes, then begins to crash.  I also attempted to render/produce from a different project and no luck again.

play the original MP4 while capturing it with Camtasia Recorder; use the resulting .trec file in your project
