Camtasia adds annoying rustling to recorded audio

I have to make video tutorials.

Every time I record audio with Camtasia 2019.0.7 it presents an annoying background rustle.

The rustle is heard only by listening to the audio from CamTasia.
The same audio track listened to by Groove Music, VLC, Windows Media Player is very good!

Today I bought a RODE NT-USB professional microphone but the problem persists :-(

Why does Camtasia add this rustle? is there any setting to set?

Thanks in advance.

Be sure to set the Audio/Recorded Inputs volume level to "0" and only control it on the Røde Mic.

It help for me...

Hi Jan,
can you explain better what you mean? What settings should I change? where is it?

I am using the "Voice Narration" function.
The new Rode microphone, by 140 € does not seem much better than the microphone of my 20 € headphones :-(

I normally lower the input level in the app so I don't amplifi the self noise or "me" blowing in the mic can also be a problem. Try to turn the mic like Curtis Judd do in this review of the Røde NT-USB mic (7:50)  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lM020uMNeJs

Also be sure you don't have any electronic close by... my power supply to my dslr can impact my mic.

If you just record and don't speak is it like "sssss" sound ?

Again try to move the input level to the left = 0
It is below the drop down where you select you Røde Mic

After that then try to select the "black or green" icon "Auto Levering" right to the drop down list where you select the mic.

When "green" it will try to Auto level...
Do 3-4 clap with your hands to see that it moves and then talk to see if the low level noise goes away. or you can change the "Gain" level when play back

or use the "Noise Removel"...

I record all my audio using audio editing software.  Then I can edit as needed.  Have you tried that?

Hi Bob
What software do you use?
Your advice may be a good substitute for the "Voice Narration" feature.
However when I have to record a live video tutorial I have to use Camtasia's functions.

I use Adobe Audition, but there is a free editor, Audacity (https://www.audacityteam.org).  On a Mac you can also use GarageBand.
